THE UAE'S APPAREL AND FOOTWEAR INDUSTRY EXPERIENCED STEADY GROWTH

In 2024, the UAE's apparel and footwear industry experienced steady growth, fueled by rising tourism, population expansion, and increasing demand across both luxury and budget segments. Retail sales reached AED 26.2 billion in menswear and AED 2.9 billion in apparel accessories, with Landmark Group emerging as a consistent market leader. Menswear benefited from the country's male-skewed demographics, work-from-home trends, and a growing preference for comfortable, stylish attire, including athleisure and traditional Indian garments. Meanwhile, accessories saw strong demand for ties and luxury scarves, driven by formal dress norms, modest fashion, and influencer-led styling content. The industry is rapidly evolving with the rise of concept stores, AI-powered retail innovation, e-commerce, and the growing resale market, reflecting a broader shift toward sustainability and circular fashion. As consumers — especially Gen Z — become more fashion-conscious and digitally influenced, the UAE market is expected to grow through 2029 by balancing global trends with local cultural preferences.
