INDONESIA SEES US$200 BLN INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY IN RENEWABLE ENERGY TRANSITION
Indonesia is unlocking nearly US$200 billion in investment opportunities to accelerate its renewable energy transition, aiming to reach 42.6 GW of capacity by 2034. Speaking at the Katadata Sustainability Action for the Future Economy (SAFE) 2025 forum, BPI Danantara’s Managing Director, Stefanus Ade Hadiwidjaja, emphasized the urgency of mobilizing capital for large-scale projects spanning solar, hydro, biomass, battery storage, and waste-to-energy (WTE). Danantara plans to collaborate with state-owned enterprises (SOEs), private firms, and global investors, with implementation expected to begin within one to two years .Among the 33 strategic initiatives prioritized by Danantara, WTE facilities are gaining traction, with tenders soon to be launched in key urban centers such as Jakarta, Bandung, Bali, Semarang, Surabaya, and Makassar. CEO Rosan P.
