THE GROWTH OF POLAND IS TO BE FUELED BY STRONG REGIONS
By supporting labour market, housing, public transport and services in smaller towns, the government aims to implement a strategy for the balanced development of Poland. With the Growth Strategy for Poland until 2035, the government is focusing on a single-speed Poland, so that social and economic changes affect both the largest cities and smaller centers equally. According to experts, this should be seen as an opportunity to save sub-regional cities from collapse. In recent years, the economic gap between regions in Poland has been narrowing – GDP per capita index for the poorest province of Lublin has increased from 67.4% of the national average to 68.8 % in five years, while for the richest region of Warsaw it has fallen from 220.2 % to 201 %.
