HCMC URGED TO ADOPT BREAKTHROUGH MEASURES TO DRIVE ECONOMIC GROWTH
HCMC – Secretary of the HCMC Party Committee, Trần Lưu Quang, has urged breakthrough solutions to help the city achieve growth of over 10% in 2025. At the fourth Party Committee conference of the 2020–2025 term, leaders reviewed nine-month results and outlined tasks for the year’s final quarter. HCMC recorded 7.8% growth in the first nine months, collected 85% of budget revenue, and resolved 266 stalled projects. Exports reached US$61.21 billion, up 6.35% year-on-year, while trade and services remained stable. The city attracted US$7.73 billion in investment, including 1,375 new FDI projects and additional capital for 354 existing ones. Challenges persist, however, with new business registrations down 13.9% and capital falling 35.1%, while enterprise suspensions and dissolutions increased. To achieve double-digit GRDP growth, the city set 11 priorities: accelerate public investment disbursement, remove investment barriers, and create a favorable business environment. Other measures include administrative restructuring, digital transformation, stronger environmental protection, and promotion of science and technology. Authorities will also review Resolution 98, adjust urban planning, and fast-track infrastructure, transport, and social housing projects, targeting 13,040 new units in 2025. Trade promotion activities will continue to expand market access and support production. — VNS (ICE HO CHI MINH CITY)
