KTZ subsidiary and Slavtrans-Service to create agro-industrial park in Alatau cityKTZ Express JSC (subsidiary of national rail carrier Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ)), Slavtrans-Service JSC (Russia) and Alatau TLC LLP have signed a cooperation agreement to implement the Agro-Industrial Park project in Almaty region, according to the KTZ press service."The parties agreed to work jointly on developing and promoting the project. The agro-industrial park will be located in Alatau city under construction near Almaty. Its infrastructure will combine a modern class A warehouse complex, multitemperature warehouses, a container terminal, a wholesale-retail center, as well as phytosanitary control and customs clearance zones," the KTZ press release states.The new facility will become a multifunctional hub "where the interests of producers, exporters and trade networks will be combined into a single system," the company notes.The new park will not only improve logistics efficiency but also create a convenient environment for producers with access to new sales channels. Kazakh companies will be able to enter international markets faster and easier, while the region will receive a strong impetus for economic growth, KTZ said.The signing ceremony took place in the presence of the akim of Almaty region and the governor of Moscow region as part of the International Multisectoral Business Mission in Moscow region.The city of regional significance Alatau in Ili district of Almaty region was established in January 2024 by presidential decree. The city's master plan was developed jointly with Singapore's Surbana Jurong.Earlier, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated that Alatau City should become the region's first fully digital city: from smart city technologies to the possibility of paying for goods and services with cryptocurrency.In his address to the nation on September 8, 2025, Tokayev also instructed to prepare within 10 days a draft decree granting Alatau city a special status with direct subordination to the government.KTZ Express provides integrated services for rail, sea and road freight transportation, including shuttle trains and logistics outsourcing.Kazakhstan Temir Zholy is a transport and logistics company part of the Samruk-Kazyna state fund. The company manages railway, seaport and airport infrastructure, as well as transport and logistics centers.Slavtrans-Service JSC was established in 2001. The company provides transport and warehouse logistics services and is implementing an investment project with KTZ and Xi'an Free Trade Port Construction & Operation Co.
