Kazakhstan's retail trade grew by 6.9% in Jan-AugKazakhstan's retail trade volume grew by 6.9% YoY in January-August 2025 reaching 14.806 trillion tenge the Bureau of National Statistics reported.Retail sales of goods by commercial enterprises increased by 6.3%.The sales growth was led by a 7.2% increase in non-food products, which accounted for 68.1%.of total retail turnover. Food sales rose 6.3%, representing 31.9% of the market.Retail inventories stood at 1.588 trillion tenge as of September 1, covering 56 days of trade.Since the beginning of the year, the turnover from retail sales of goods by privately-owned enterprises amounted to 13.205 trillion tenge (89.2% of the total retail trade volume), while foreign-owned enterprises accounted for 1.6 trillion tenge (10.8%).Almaty accounted for nearly one-third of national retail sales (32.4%) followed by Astana (13.8%), Karaganda Region (7.3%) and the East Kazakhstan Region (5.6%).
