Construction of non-alcoholic beverage plant begins in Almaty regionConstruction of a non-alcoholic beverage plant has begun in the Almaty region, the press service of Agriculture Ministry reported.According to the press service, an investment agreement was signed on Tuesday, and a groundbreaking ceremony for the new non-alcoholic beverage plant was held, attended by Vice Minister of Agriculture Yermek Kenzekhanuly, Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Gabidulla Ospankulov, CEO of the Carlsberg Group Jacob Aarup-Andersen, and General Director of Carlsberg Kazakhstan Vyacheslav Maltsev."The new plant is not just a production site. It is a symbol of our long-term commitment to Kazakhstan. It is an investment that will bring new jobs, modern technology, and a significant contribution to the development of the local economy. Upon completion, it will be one of the most modern and sustainable plants in the region, fully compliant with international standards," said Aarup-Andersen.The plant will be built on a 17-hectare site. Beverage production is planned under a license from PepsiCo. The plant's full capacity will be about 1 billion liters of products per year. The main markets will be Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The total investment in the project will be about $344 million.Carlsberg Kazakhstan is part of the international Carlsberg Group, which operates in over 150 countries. The company has been operating in Kazakhstan since 1998 and is one of the largest producers of beer products. Cooperation with PepsiCo opens a new direction in the non-alcoholic beverage segment. The new plant plans to produce popular PepsiCo brands, including Pepsi, Mirinda, and 7UP carbonated drinks, as well as non-carbonated Lipton Ice Tea and Tropicana juices. (ICE ALMATY)
