The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) plans to implement a single-gateway policy for fuel imports through PT Pertamina to address recent shortages at private gas stations. Deputy Minister Yuliot Tanjung stated that the ministry is consolidating consumption data from private retailers to determine appropriate import volumes, with an estimated total need of 1.4 million kiloliters. Pertamina will manage the import process to ensure accurate allocation and avoid supply mismatches. The fuel will be sourced from U.S. companies like ExxonMobil and Chevron under a bilateral trade agreement.
