Kazakhstan makes US market debut with flour on Amazon, WalmartKazakhstan has launched sales of its flour on major U.S. e-commerce platforms Amazon and Walmart, the country's QazTrade Center for Trade Policy Development announced Wednesday."An initial 50-tonne shipment of wheat flour for the brand Eurasian Legacy has been delivered to New York. This marks the first major export case realized under a new strategy to promote national goods in the U.S. market," the statement said.QazTrade plans to expand monthly exports to over 100 tonnes.The product is currently priced at $14.50 for a 1.36-kilogram bag on Amazon, listed on Walmart, and is also being supplied to several U.S. bakeries," according to the statement. The trade agency is negotiating with restaurants, coffee shops and local food chains while exploring entry into major retailers like Costco, Whole Foods and Trader Joe's.The move comes as Kazakhstan projects a grain harvest of 21.7 million tonnes this year, including 16.2 million tonnes of wheat, according to the Grain Union of Kazakhstan. While exports for the 2025-2026 agricultural year are forecast at 10.4 million tonnes (13% below the previous year), they remain 17% above multi-year averages.This expansion follows Kazakhstan's record 26-million-tonne grain harvest in 2024, which enabled exports of 12.4 million tonnes of grain and flour during the current marketing year - a 33.3% increase over the previous period.
