The analysis of 423 occupational groups showed that approximately 2.2 million, or 25% of the workforce, face moderate to high automation risks. Specifically, generative AI technologies could displace over one million workers," Anafin stated during a roundtable discussion in the Majilis on AI's role in the social sector.Urban centers like Almaty, Astana, and Shymkent are most vulnerable, with up to one-third of jobs potentially affected. However, Anafin predicted a gradual transition rather than mass layoffs, citing Kazakhstan's relatively low labor costs as a factor that may slow corporate adoption of AI automation until it becomes economically compelling.The population of Kazakhstan exceeds 20 million people.
