From January to June 2025, the total area of residential buildings receiving construction permits jumped 45% compared to the same period in 2024, hitting 2.965 million square meters, according to the State Statistics Service. Apartment building construction increased 45.8%, reaching 2.86 million square meters. The number of apartments on which construction has started grew 51.5%, hitting 33,000.The Kyiv region led the way, declaring 904,900 square meters of new housing (15,500 apartments) – a 130% increase from the first half of last year. The Lviv region saw 65% growth, with 540,700 square meters (6,900 apartments) declared. The Ivano-Frankivsk region’s volume grew 8%, to 234,600 square meters (3,800 apartments). However, the Vinnytsia region experienced a 38.7% decline, with a total of 130,900 square meters (2,900 apartments) declared.In the capital, new housing construction more than doubled in half a year, reaching 367,200 square meters (4,200 apartments).
