INDONESIA'S PRESIDENT TARGETS MANUFACTURING CONTRIBUTION TO GDP AT 20.8% IN 2025

Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto has set a 2025 target for manufacturing to contribute 20.8% of GDP, up from 18.98% in 2024, as outlined in Presidential Regulation No. 79/2025. The plan also sets 5.3% economic growth, per capita GDP of US$5,410, inflation at 2.5–4.0%, and an exchange rate of Rp16,000–Rp16,900. To achieve this, the government projects IDR7,593 trillion in investment, mostly from the private sector, with SOEs focusing on strategic areas such as health, energy, food, digitalization, and housing. Manufacturing is expected to grow 5.5%, supported by new downstream projects in petrochemicals, EV batteries, and copper. Beyond industry, tourism is targeted to contribute 4.2–4.3% of GDP, while eastern Indonesia is expected to grow faster than the west through projects in Papua and Maluku. The 2025 state budget deficit is set at 2.53% of GDP, backed by US$162.4 billion in reserves. The RKP 2025 outlines 83 priority programs, including industrial downstreaming, green and digital transformation, human capital development, and the construction of the new capital, Nusantara.Source: https://ekonomi.bisnis.com/read/20250919/257/1912830/prabowo-target-kontribusi-manufaktur-ke-pdb-naik-jadi-208-pada-2025 (ICE GIACARTA)
