JORDAN INAUGURATES FIRST INTEGRATED INDUSTRIAL WASTEWATER TREATMENT UNIT

The Ministry of Water and Irrigation on Tuesday inaugurated the Kingdom’s first integrated unit for treating industrial wastewater using zero-discharge technology. The unit, established in cooperation with the Jordan Chamber of Industry, is located at the headquarters of Al-Baha Soda and Chlorine Production Company in Zarqa/Al-Dhulayl Governorate. The project received partial support from the Water Conservation and Development Project, funded by the U.S. government. During the inauguration, Minister of Water and Irrigation Eng. Raed Abu Al-Saud said this national achievement, realized in partnership with the industrial sector, strengthens Jordan’s leadership in adopting sustainable industrial solutions. He noted that it contributes to conserving resources, enhancing competitiveness, building stronger ties with industry, improving efficiency, utilizing non-traditional water sources, and encouraging investment in advanced treatment and reuse technologies—aligned with the National Water Conservation Plan 2024–2026.
