Kazakhstan’s vegetable oil production grew by 27% in Jan-AugKazakhstan produced 594,900 tonnes of vegetable oil in January - August 2025, which is 27% more than in the same period last year according to the Ministry of Agriculture.In particular, sunflower oil production increased by 27.2% - from 411,900 tonnes to 523,900 tonnes.In 2025, the area under oilseeds in the republic amounted to 4 million hectares, including 1.7 million hectares under sunflower. In 2024, the sown area of oilseeds was 2.9 million hectares.The largest share of oilseed crops falls on the North Kazakhstan region - 23.3%, Kostanay - 23%, Pavlodar - 12.5%, Abai - 10.2%, Akmola - 9.2%, East Kazakhstan - 7.7%.In 2024, Kazakhstan harvested 3.3 million tonnes of oilseeds, which is 57% more than in 2023 (2.1 million tonnes).According to data as of September 18 of this year, 435,000 tonnes of oilseeds have been harvested in the country.There are 88 processing enterprises for oilseeds in the country with a capacity of up to 4.7 million tonnes of raw materials per year.
