POLES PREFER TO BUY COFFEE AT CONVENIENCE STORES ŻABKA DUE TO HIGH PRICES IN CAF

According to a report by ARG Rynek i Opinia, it follows that the convenience store chain Żabka has become the most popular place to buy coffee outside a home. As many as 38 percent of respondents indicated that they had bought coffee at this chain of shops in the last 30 days. From January to the end of August, Żabka sold over 27 million cups of coffee. Orlen and McDonalds occupy the second and third positions with 37 percent each. The survey shows that Poles like to drink coffee outside the home, but not in cafés. Costa Coffee was mentioned by 13 percent of respondents and Starbucks by 11 percent. The reason for the popularity of coffee offered by shops and petrol stations are high prices of coffee sold by cafés. Overall, Poles already spend around PLN 7bn a year on coffee, both bought for home consumption and drunk outside their home. (ICE VARSAVIA)
