Kazakhstan to harvest 24 mln tonnes of grain this yearKazakhstan is projected to harvest 24 million tonnes of grain this year, according to Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov."This year’s harvest is expected to reach 24 million tonnes, which will be enough to fully meet the domestic demand for food grain, fodder and seeds, while also maintaining export volumes," Saparov said at a Tuesday meeting of the government.To date, the agricultural producers have threshed 15.5 million tonnes of grain from 10.2 million hectares, with an average yield of 1.52 tonnes per hectare. In addition to grains, approximately 700,000 tonnes of oilseeds have been gathered.The minister also stated that a record oilseed harvest of 4 million tonnes is expected this year."Furthermore, 1.8 million tonnes of potatoes, 2.9 million tonnes of vegetables and 2.2 million tonnes of melons have been collected," Saparov said.Deputy Minister of Agriculture Azat Sultanov said earlier that Kazakhstan’s grain harvest in 2025 could exceed 20 million tonnes, provided weather conditions are favorable.According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Kazakh farmers threshed a record 26.5 million tonnes of grain in 2024, with an average yield of 1.6 tonnes per hectare.
