Around 70% of taxpayers will retain simplified regime under new Tax CodeThe special tax regime based on a simplified declaration will be retained for approximately 70% of taxpayers after the new Tax Code comes into effect, according to Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin.He stated that only entrepreneurs providing retail services to individuals will be eligible to operate under the simplified regime. The general regime will apply to companies that work with legal entities."The so-called 'prohibitive' list will include industries related to the production of goods and services for businesses. In these sectors, more than 76% of the total turnover comes from transactions with taxpayers applying the general regime. (...) In total, this applies to more than 700 types of economic activities, which constitute about 70% of all NACE codes. However, in terms of taxpayers, the prohibition of the simplified regime affects only about 30% of enterprises," Zhumangarin said at the final seminar on explaining the new Tax Code.He added that the simplified regime applies to more than 300 types of activities, including retail trade in areas up to 2,000 sq. m, pharmacies, cafes and restaurants, hotels, housing and transport rentals, light and food industries, passenger transport, children's clubs, private clinics, household and construction services for the population, as well as agriculture, cultural and sports facilities, and part of the creative industry. Preliminary lists of eligible activities will be published by the end of the week on the " Open Online Legal Database " portal. Consultations with the business community and experts are planned to continue after that.The new Tax Code in Kazakhstan will come into effect on January 1, 2026. The new Tax Code will reduce the number of special tax regimes from the current six to three: for the self-employed, based on a simplified declaration, and for farm enterprises.
