POLISH COMPANIES GET READY FOR BUILDING A NUCLEAR POWER PLANT
More than 20 companies (Polish and international) are at various stages of implementing a standard, which ensures the quality required for the construction of a nuclear power plant in Choczewo. Of the six Polish participants in the certification process for nuclear work, almost all have successfully completed the first stage, which involves developing the NQA-1 quality programme. This programme specifies the quality assurance requirements for the nuclear industry. Half of these companies have already entered the second of three implementation phases, which involves developing technical documentation in accordance with the new programme and then producing a sample, which will ultimately qualify them for our List of Approved Suppliers. In May, the investor, Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe, selected six Polish companies which, together with Westinghouse, began quality certification. These companies are: Zakład Konstrukcji Spawanych Ferrum, Famak, Energomontaż-Północ Gdynia (EPGSA), Mostostal Siedlce, Mostostal Kraków and Mostostal Kielce. (ICE VARSAVIA)
