Ukraine consistently ranks among the top five suppliers of organic products to the European Union, said Taras Vysotskyi, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine, during the annual Organic Day in Ukraine conference in Kyiv.Currently, Ukraine has 260 certified operators compliant with national organic legislation and 436 certified under EU and/or US standards. About 350,000 hectares of farmland have organic status, representing 1.2% of Ukraine’s total agricultural land. The country aims to expand this share to 5%, and later to 25%, in line with EU goals.Vysotskyi noted progress in aligning Ukraine’s organic legislation with EU regulations.
