BACK TO SCHOOL SEASON FUELED RETAIL SALES IN SEPTEMBER

Companies are reviewing the “back to school 2025” (BTS) season. Retail sales of school supplies, clothing and footwear have increased. Managers, analysts and economists emphasise the strength of Polish consumers. A market survey commissioned by Empik Group to SW Research shows that around 60 percent of parents declared that they would spend more on school supplies for their children than last year. The vast majority planned to spend more than PLN500 on this. Only 13 percent declared that they would spend less than PLN300, which is the amount of funding available from the ministry's “Good Start” programme. "This year's results indicate moderately positive consumer sentiment. Customers remain price-sensitive, but at the same time are willing to invest in products that are important for their children's education, which demonstrates a rational approach to spending and treats school expenses as a priority in household budgets," says Wojciech Kudaś, CMO of Empik Group.
