LARGE ENTERPRISES URGED TO LEAD VIỆT NAM’S ECONOMY-WIDE DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION
Experts have emphasised that Việt Nam’s digital transformation cannot rely solely on government strategies or advanced technologies — large enterprises must take the lead in driving innovation and knowledge transfer across the economy. Successful pioneers such as TPBank, which now conducts 98 per cent of transactions digitally, and Vingroup with its humanoid robot VinMotion, demonstrate how bold technological adoption can reshape industries. Corporations like FPT Digital and MISA JSC are also empowering smaller firms through AI training, consulting, and integrated platforms like MISA AMIS OneAI, supporting efficiency and competitiveness. However, challenges persist: R&D investment remains low at 0.42 per cent of GDP, private sector innovation is limited, and regional disparities hinder uniform digital progress. Experts from Deloitte and InfoRe note that many businesses still lack a coherent digital vision. TPBank’s CEO Nguyễn Hưng stressed that the human factor — from leadership understanding to workforce adaptability — remains the decisive element for ensuring digital transformation delivers real, economy-wide impact.
