The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) has developed 5,449 Indonesian National Standards (SNI), with 136 currently mandated as compulsory, to strengthen industrial competitiveness and ensure product quality on the global market. Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita stressed that standardisation is vital for consumer protection, improving production efficiency, and adapting to international trade demands.
