UKRAINE REMAINS THE FOURTH-LARGEST FOOD SUPPLIER TO THE EU, DESPITE A DECLINE IN EXPORTS.

From January to July, Ukraine exported $5.73B worth of agri-food products to the EU, a 13% decrease compared to the same period last year. Nonetheless, Ukraine retained its fourth-place position among EU agri-food suppliers during this period. Overall, EU imports of agri-food products totaled approximately $96.8B, up 16%.In comparison, exports from the EU amounted to $118.7B, an increase of 2%. Simultaneously, Ukraine received agri-food imports valued at $2.1B, up 17%.Since the start of the 2025-2026 marketing year and as of October 1, Ukraine has exported 6.56 million tons of grain and leguminous crops, down from 10.3 million tons last year. In the current season, exporters have already shipped 4.7 million tons of wheat and 913,000 tons of corn.Additionally, in September Ukraine exported 3.7 million tons of agricultural products, which is 6.5% less than in August. Compared to September 2024, exports declined by 25%.
