Kazakhstan’s Grain Union raises 2025 harvest forecast to 23 mln tonnesThe Grain Union of Kazakhstan has revised its forecast for the country's 2025 grain harvest upward, from 21.7 million tonnes to 23 million tonnes, said Yevgeny Karabanov, head of the analytics department at the Grain Union, told Interfax-Kazakhstan."According to the updated forecast, the gross harvest of grain in Kazakhstan in 2025 will be 22.99 million tonnes, compared to 24.6 million tonnes in 2024. This includes 17.2 million tonnes of wheat, versus 18.6 million tonnes last year, which translates to 16.3 million tonnes after processing," Karabanov said at the international AGRICOM conference in Astana.Karabanov had previously forecast this year's grain harvest at 21.7 million tonnes, including 16.2 million tonnes of wheat.By October 2, Kazakhstan had harvested grain from 12.7 million hectares, which is 79.3% of the total area sown. The threshed volume amounts to 19.8 million tonnes of grain. (ICE ALMATY)
