PLANS TO RAISE PER CAPITA GDP TO $8,500 BY 2030

The Vietnamese Government has outlined ambitious national goals under Resolution No. 306/NQ-CP, adjusting the national master plan for 2021–2030 with a vision toward 2050. By 2030, Việt Nam aims to achieve a per capita GDP of US$8,500, with the services sector contributing over 50% of GDP, industry and construction over 40%, and agriculture under 10%. Labour productivity is targeted to grow by 7–8.5% annually, and total factor productivity to contribute over 55% to growth. The country also plans to expand its digital economy to 30% of GDP, strengthen education and healthcare, and enhance cultural development. By 2030, the population is projected at 105 million, HDI at 0.78, and life expectancy at 75.5 years. Spatially, Việt Nam will develop five key growth regions—northern (Hà Nội), southern (HCM City), central (Đà Nẵng), Mekong Delta (Cần Thơ), and north-central (Thanh Hóa–Nghệ An–Hà Tĩnh)—each serving as a regional economic and innovation hub, driving balanced and sustainable national growth.
