World Bank raises Kazakhstan growth forecast to 5.5% for 2025The World Bank has upgraded its forecast for Kazakhstan's economic growth, projecting gross domestic product will expand by 5.5% in 2025, according to the October edition of its "Europe and Central Asia Economic Update: Jobs And Prosperity" report.The improved outlook, up from a 4.5% prediction made in June, reflects stronger-than-expected performance after the economy grew 6.5% in the first eight months of the year. The bank also raised its 2026 forecast to 4.5% but expects growth to moderate to 3.9% in 2027.The revision brings the World Bank's assessment in line with other international institutions. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) improved its forecast for Kazakhstan's GDP growth in 2025 to 5.7%, while maintaining its 2026 forecast at 4.5%. In late July, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) raised its projection for Kazakhstan's economic growth in 2025 from 4.9% to 5%. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) also revised its GDP growth expectation for Kazakhstan for the current year upward from 4.9% to 5.1%. The Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD) expects Kazakhstan's GDP growth to be 5% in 2025. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) forecasts Kazakhstan's economic growth in 2025 at 5.5%. (ICE ALMATY)
