SINGAPORE DROPS TO 10TH IN GLOBAL FRAUD PROTECTION

Singapore has fallen to 10th place from first globally in overall fraud protection, according to Sumsub’s 2nd Global Fraud Index, even as it retained the top global ranking for government intervention. The 2025 index, which now covers 112 countries, saw Asia-Pacific fall one spot to 4th globally, in overall regional fraud protection. APAC now ranks above only Africa, trailing Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas. Whilst Singapore’s overall ranking declined, it stood out on government-led measures. The city-state ranked first globally on the Government Intervention pillar, reflecting strong public sector action and regulatory frameworks aimed at tackling fraud across sectors.
