The Government Party Committee held a press conference in Hanoi on October 9 to announce the first Government Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term, scheduled for October 12-13 at the National Convention Centre. Chaired by Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, the event will review achievements from 2020-2025 and set goals for the next term under a new organisational model. According to Tran Van Son, Head of the Government Office, the congress will focus on maintaining stability, promoting sustainable growth, and positioning Vietnam among the world’s top 30 economies and third in ASEAN by GDP. From 2026-2030, Vietnam aims for modern, efficient institutions, advanced infrastructure, strong human resources, and high technological innovation. The congress will also contribute to draft documents for the 14th National Party Congress and gather 453 delegates representing over 209,000 Party members across 2,200 grassroots organisations.
