THE TEXTILE AND FOOTWEAR INDUSTRY RECOVERS, EXPORTS REACH US$ 13.17 BILLION
Indonesia’s Manufacturing PMI hit 50.4 in September 2025, confirming the sector's resilience and remaining in the expansion zone for the second consecutive month. This performance outpaced major industrial economies like Japan and Germany. Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita attributed the continued growth to robust domestic demand and the government's TKDN (Local Content) reforms. Employment in the sector reached a four-month high, signaling optimism. Fiscal policy, such as the commitment not to raise the tobacco excise tax, further supports the industry, reinforcing manufacturing's role as the primary engine for national economic growth.Source: https://industri.kontan.co.id/news/industri-tekstil-dan-alas-kaki-pulih-ekspor-tembus-us-1317-miliar (ICE GIACARTA)
