Retail sales in Kazakhstan up 7.1% in Jan-SeptThe volume of retail sales in January-September 2025 grew by 7.1% year over year to make 17.443 trillion tenge, the National Statistics Bureau of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms said.In the reporting period, the trade enterprises increased sales by 6.7% year over year.The share of food products in the total volume of retail trade accounted for 32.8%, non-food products – 67.2%.Compared to January-September 2024, the sales volume of food products increased by 6.6%, non-food products by 7.4%.As at October 1, 2025 the total stock of the trade organizations stood at 1.563 trillion tenge, which is enough to last for 59 trading days.Since the beginning of this year, private retail enterprises earned 15.62 trillion tenge in revenues from goods sold to individuals, accounting for 89.5% of the total retail trade, and retail companies with foreign participation earned 1.823 trillion tenge (10.5%).Retail activity during January-September 2025 was primarily concentrated in the cities of Almaty (32.8%) and Astana (14%), the Karaganda region (7.3%) and the East Kazakhstan region (5.4%).
