The ESDM Ministry announced the auction of nine oil and gas blocks at the Asia Pacific Oil & Gas Conference and Exhibition (APOGCE) on October 14, 2025.The key target is the Natuna D Alpha giant gas field, with potential reserves of 46 TCF and 2,865 MMBO. KUFPEC is currently studying the block. Natuna is highly challenging due to its high CO2 content (up to 70%), requiring CCS/CCUS technology. Pertamina is coordinating with KUFPEC due to its adjacent East Natuna Block.
