IMF improves Kazakhstan's 2025 GDP growth forecast to 5.9%The International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecasts Kazakhstan's economic growth at 5.9% for 2025. The latest World Economic Outlook, traditionally released in the autumn during the annual meetings of the IMF and the World Bank, was published by the Fund on Tuesday.In the previous review in July, the IMF had forecast Kazakhstan's GDP growth at 5%.For 2026, the Fund has also raised its expectations for Kazakhstan's economic growth to 4.8%, up from the previous 4.3%.As reported, Kazakhstan's economy grew by 6.3% in the period from January to September 2025. In 2024, Kazakhstan's GDP growth was 4.8%. According to the National Bank's forecast, Kazakhstan's GDP growth in 2025 is expected to be in the range of 5.5%-6.5%.Previously, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) improved its forecast for Kazakhstan's GDP growth in 2025 to 5.7%, while its forecast for 2026 remained unchanged at 4.5%.At the end of July, the International Monetary Fund had raised its forecast for Kazakhstan's economic growth at the end of 2025 from 4.9% to 5%.The Asian Development Bank (ADB) also improved its expectations for Kazakhstan's GDP growth this year, raising it from 4.9% to 5.1%.The Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD) expects Kazakhstan's GDP growth at the end of 2025 to be around 5%.The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) expects Kazakhstan's economic growth in 2025 to be around 5.5%.
