The National Investment Commission (NIC) has signed an engineering supervision contract for the "Future City" ["City of the Future"] residential project - one of Baghdad's largest urban investment developments.The signing ceremony was attended by NIC Chairman Dr. Haider Mohammed Makiyya, representatives of Al-Handal International Group (the project developer), and Dr. Mohammed Al-Sakni, Director General of the Engineering Construction Department at the Ministry of Construction and Housing.Under the agreement, the Ministry's Engineering Construction Department will oversee implementation to ensure compliance with approved plans and specifications, while Al-Handal International Group proceeds with execution.Spanning 971 dunams, the Future City project aims to help address Baghdad's housing shortage, create new jobs, and attract further urban investment in line with the government's housing and infrastructure strategy.Future City is being built by Modon, a subsidiary of Al Handal International Group.
