Numerous drug companies are pausing their plans to expand in the US until the American government clarifies if they will be exempted from new tariffs, Minister Gan Siow Huang told the Parliament on Tuesday. The new tariffs were put on hold so companies could negotiate exemptions with US officials. Specifically, many Singapore-based pharmaceutical companies intending to build or enlarge their US facilities need further guidance to confirm their projects will qualify for that exemption.
