Kazakhstan imposes moratorium on price increases for AI-92 petrol and diesel fuel from Oct 16 (Part 2)Kazakhstan has introduced a moratorium on further price increases for AI-92 petrol and diesel fuel starting October 16, the press service of the republic's government reports.According to the press service, the decision was made at a meeting on Thursday with the participation of government members, heads of other state bodies and organizations on the implementation of the head of state's instructions to streamline the implementation of the economic reform program in the interests of citizens.The moratorium will remain in effect "until the inflation rate stabilizes."As reported, monthly inflation in Kazakhstan in September 2025 was 1.1%, accelerating from 1% in August. Year-on-year inflation in September 2025 stood at 12.9%, compared to 12.2% in August.According to the Bureau of National Statistics, in September, prices for paid services increased by 15.3% year-on-year (15.3% in August), food products by 12.7% (11.7% in August), and non-food goods by 10.8% (9.7% in August).The largest contributions to the annual inflation rate came from food and non-alcoholic beverages (5 percentage points), housing services (1.9 percentage points), and healthcare (1.5 percentage points).Month-on-month, prices for non-food goods rose by 1.5%, paid services by 1%, and food products by 0.9%.
