The National Investment Commission (NIC) has announced the start of administrative procedures to designate the Al-Tayeb area in Maysan as a district, paving the way for its transformation into a major multi-service economic city and strategic investment opportunity.NIC Chairman Dr. Haider Mohammed Makiya said the Commission has received the master planning vision for the project from KBR, following a series of meetings that led to its approval by the specialised committee. He added that the project will generate thousands of diverse job opportunities for residents of Maysan.Dr. Makiya, who chaired a high-level meeting of the ministerial committee overseeing the project, explained that Al-Tayeb City will become a major economic hub linked to the Development Road project, creating an attractive environment for domestic and foreign investment. The city is expected to draw total investments exceeding $60 billion.The meeting reviewed land-use plans, preliminary feasibility studies, and financing mechanisms to ensure the project's launch on solid economic foundations.
