INDONESIA SEES SANUR, KURA KURA SEZS AS NEW ENGINES OF BALI'S ECONOMY
Bank Indonesia’s Bali Representative Office has identified the Sanur Health and Kura Kura Bali Special Economic Zones (SEZs) as pivotal engines for regional growth, citing their role in accelerating Bali’s economy, which grew 5.95% in Q2 2025—surpassing the national average of 5.12%. These SEZs have already demonstrated strong investment performance, with Sanur SEZ realizing IDR 4.42 trillion (US$266.96 million) and creating 3,822 jobs since its inception, while targeting a total investment of IDR 10.2 trillion (US$616 million) and over 43,000 jobs. Kura Kura Bali SEZ, with a projected investment of IDR 89.9 trillion (US$5.43 billion), aims to employ more than 35,000 people. Beyond SEZ development, Bali’s economic strategy includes enhancing tourism quality—vital as the island contributes 64.29% of Indonesia’s tourism foreign exchange—boosting agricultural productivity, and expanding digital payment systems across urban and rural areas. Upcoming initiatives involve digital visitor management, including ticketing and capacity-based visit limits, and the rollout of integrated platforms like Love Bali. The government also plans to attract tertiary investments beyond the traditional hubs of Denpasar, Badung, Gianyar, and Tabanan, reinforcing Bali’s inclusive and sustainable growth trajectory.Source:https://en.antaranews.com/news/386721/indonesia-sees-sanur-kura-kura-sezs-as-new-engines-of-balis-economy?utm_source=antaranews&utm_medium=mobile&utm_campaign=latest_category (ICE GIACARTA)
