THE Philippines and Japan have signed a memorandum of cooperation (MOC) to address critical energy and environmental challenges, the Department of Energy (DOE) announced on Tuesday. Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Muto Yoji and Philippine Energy Secretary Sharon Garin signed the MOC — titled “Energy Partnership” — to mutually enhance energy resilience and security, support low-carbon development and contribute to climate change mitigation efforts under the Paris Agreement.
