PH, JAPAN SIGN ENERGY PARTNERSHIP
THE Philippines and Japan have signed a memorandum of cooperation (MOC) to address critical energy and environmental challenges, the Department of Energy (DOE) announced on Tuesday. Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Muto Yoji and Philippine Energy Secretary Sharon Garin signed the MOC — titled “Energy Partnership” — to mutually enhance energy resilience and security, support low-carbon development and contribute to climate change mitigation efforts under the Paris Agreement. The partnership also seeks the exchange of technological expertise and best practices from Japan to the Philippines — including capacity-building, knowledge exchange, collaborative pilot projects and policy dialogue covering renewable energy (RE), grid integration, energy storage, hydrogen, ammonia, liquefied natural gas (LNG), and carbon capture, utilization and storage. https://www.manilatimes.net/2025/10/22/business/top-business/ph-japan-sign-energy-partnership/2205325 (ICE SINGAPORE)
