Kazakhstan to increase agricultural exports to Azerbaijan by 14.5 mln tonnesKazakhstan has proposed exporting an additional 14.5 million tonnes of agricultural products to Azerbaijan, Vice Minister of Trade and Integration Aydar Abildabekov said."The potential for mutual trade remains significant. In this regard, Kazakhstan proposes expanding the export basket to include a wide range of agricultural products with a total volume of about 14.5 million tonnes," Abildabekov said during a business forum between the two countries on Tuesday.He specified that the proposal includes exporting grains and oilseeds, as well as products derived from these crops: flour and sunflower oil."These items could form the basis of mutual trade and give new practical substance to the agricultural partnership between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan," the vice minister believes.Abildabekov stated that the key goal of the partnership is to establish sustainable long-term trade, reducing dependence on fluctuations in commodity markets, and increasing the turnover of high value-added products.According to Kazakhstan's Ministry of Trade and Integration, trade turnover between the countries reached $534 million in 2024, with $485 million coming from exports of Kazakh products. In July-August 2025, mutual trade reached $343 million. (ICE ALMATY)
