AsiaThe Qarmet metallurgical plant (formerly ArcelorMittal Temirtau) plans to expand its presence in Central Asian countries, Yerbol Ismailov, Managing Director for Sustainable Development at Qarmet, told Interfax-Kazakhstan news agency."The Qarmet business is developing through the modernization of production facilities and vertical integration, which allows it to strengthen its position in the domestic market and increase exports. The priorities are to fully meet the needs within Kazakhstan, increase presence in Central Asia, expand the product line and enter new consumer segments," Ismailov said in an interview with Interfax-Kazakhstan.According to him, 90% of the plant's supplies are for the construction segment: pipes, rebar and sheet steel.
