INDONESIA SPURS HERBAL MEDICINE INDUSTRY, BPOM PARTNERS WITH WHO
Indonesia's National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM) is committed to accelerating national pharmaceutical self-reliance by developing natural-ingredient medicines (fitofarmaka). BPOM Head Taruna Ikrar stated this at the 16th WHO-IRCH meeting in Jakarta, where Indonesia served as the host. The government is strengthening strategic collaboration among academia, business, and government to boost herbal research and downstream industries. BPOM provides regulation to ensure product safety, efficacy, and quality, while also pushing for the integration of traditional medicine into the national healthcare system.Source: https://money.kompas.com/read/2025/10/22/211558726/indonesia-pacu-industri-obat-herbal-bpom-gandeng-who-perkuat-regulasi (ICE GIACARTA)
