POLAND'S EXPORTS OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES GROWS SIGNIFICANTLY
Polish alcohol exports have been going up considerably over the last four years while whisky has been the fastest growing segment of these exports, reads a report by the spirits industry.The value of whisky exports grew from PLN 40 million (EUR 9 million) in 2021 to PLN 197 million (EUR 46 million) in 2024, the report said, adding that exports of liqueurs had recently gone up by over threefold.According to the report, the spirits industry generated GDP worth nearly PLN 26 billion (EUR 6 billion) in 2024 while the value of the market of alcoholic beverages in Poland totalled PLN 68.6 billion (EUR 16 billion), with beer being its largest segment that amounted to PLN 31.2 billion (EUR 7 billion).The sector's direct contribution to Poland's GDP in 2024 reached PLN 13.4 billion (EUR 3.1 billion), and the indirect contribution (raw materials, transport and logistics, supplies for HoReCa) totalled PLN 12.3 billion (EUR 2.9 billion).Poland exports alcoholic beverages mainly to France, the US, Hungary, Great Britain and Germany. Polish vodka continues as the country's export hit, with its exports reaching PLN 900 million (EUR 209 million) in 2024. (ICE VARSAVIA)
