The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday hosted a Jordanian–Italian meeting to discuss cooperation and coordination aimed at enhancing humanitarian support for the Gaza Strip and ending the ongoing humanitarian suffering in the enclave, according to a foreign ministry statement. The meeting, which brought together a number of relevant Jordanian institutions, focused on ensuring a swift and effective response to the humanitarian needs in Gaza, including food security, health, education, shelter and basic infrastructure, according to a Foreign Ministry statement. Discussions also covered Jordan’s continued efforts to deliver aid through the Jordanian humanitarian corridor to Gaza, stressing the need to remove all obstacles that hinder the delivery of assistance, and the importance of increasing humanitarian support in the coming period in coordination with partner countries and specialised UN agencies.
