PM PHẠM MINH CHÍNH ATTENDS PLENARY AND RETREAT SESSIONS OF 47TH ASEAN SUMMIT
At the 47th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính joined regional leaders in discussions focused on inclusivity, sustainability, and ASEAN’s strategic direction. He emphasised that “inclusivity and sustainability” must remain ASEAN’s core orientation, and proposed three key sources of strength: solidarity and unity; economic autonomy and connectivity through green, digital, and circular models; and innovation via frameworks such as the ASEAN Digital Economy Agreement and the ASEAN Innovation Centre Network. PM Chính announced that Việt Nam will host the third ASEAN Future Forum in 2026 to foster ideas for a sustainable and inclusive future. ASEAN leaders reaffirmed commitments to the ASEAN Community Vision 2045, narrowing development gaps, digital transformation, and climate action. They welcomed Timor-Leste as ASEAN’s 11th member, supported Cambodia–Thailand peace efforts, and reiterated the Five-Point Consensus on Myanmar. On the East Sea, leaders stressed unity, adherence to international law and UNCLOS 1982, and an early, substantive Code of Conduct (COC) to maintain peace and stability in the region.
