INDONESIA’S ENERGY TRANSFORMATION YIELDS 276,000 NEW JOBS IN ONE YEAR
Indonesia’s energy and mineral downstreaming initiatives have generated over 276,000 new jobs in the past year, according to Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Minister Bahlil Lahadalia. Speaking on October 26, he emphasized that the government’s pro-people policies have delivered tangible social and economic benefits, including skill training, certification programs, and support for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and cooperatives. These efforts are part of a broader national economic transformation that prioritizes human development and equitable growth, with energy projects strategically placed beyond major industrial zones to benefit smaller cities and rural communities. In addition to social impact, the energy sector has shown strong fiscal and investment performance. Non-tax state revenue (PNBP) reached IDR 183.3 trillion by mid-2025, with significant contributions from the mineral, coal, and oil and gas subsectors. Investment in the Energy and Mineral Resources sector rose to USD 17.20 billion, up 8.5% from the previous year, reflecting growing investor confidence.Source: https://rri.co.id/en/business/1928334/indonesia-s-energy-transformation-yields-276-000-new-jobs-in-one-year (ICE GIACARTA)
