INDONESIA’S AGRO-INDUSTRY DRAWS IDR 85 TRILLION INVESTMENT IN H1 2025

Indonesia’s agro-industry attracted IDR 85.05 trillion in investment during the first half of 2025, reflecting strong investor confidence and sectoral performance, according to the Industry Ministry. The sector absorbed approximately 9.8 million workers—over half of the non-oil and gas manufacturing workforce—and generated a USD 26.96 billion trade surplus, with exports reaching USD 37.38 billion and imports at USD 10.42 billion. Acting Director General Putu Juli Ardika highlighted these figures during the Agro-Industry Exhibition in Jakarta, emphasizing the sector’s growing role in driving employment and trade. In addition to its trade and labor impact, the agro-industry contributed significantly to Indonesia’s economic output, accounting for 52.07% of the non-oil and gas manufacturing GDP and 8.96% of national GDP in H1 2025, with a growth rate of 4.99%. The ministry underscored the sector’s strategic importance in supporting national development and industrial resilience, positioning agro-industry as a key pillar of Indonesia’s economic future.Source: https://rri.co.id/en/business/1935646/indonesia-s-agro-industry-draws-idr-85-trillion-investment-in-h1-2025 (ICE GIACARTA)
