INDONESIA OPENS UP CREATIVE ECONOMY COOPERATION WITH OACPS COUNTRIES

Indonesia’s Ministry of Creative Economy has initiated cooperation with member countries of the Organization of African, Caribbean, and Pacific States (OACPS) to strengthen global partnerships in the creative economy sector. During a meeting in Jakarta, Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya invited the OACPS to participate in the World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) 2026, emphasizing Indonesia’s role as the founding country of the WCCE since 2018. The minister highlighted that OACPS participation could open concrete opportunities for sustainable development, especially as foreign investment in Indonesia’s creative economy continues to grow in key subsectors such as applications, fashion, crafts, and food. With 79 member countries across three regions, the OACPS offers vast potential for expanding export markets and generating employment through creative industry collaboration. Indonesia’s current strategy focuses on scaling up businesses, promoting intellectual property, and enhancing global networking. In alignment with the Luanda and Nairobi Declarations, Indonesia also supports capacity-building efforts for OACPS members via South-South Cooperation and the WCCE platform. OACPS Secretary General Moussa Saleh Batraki praised Indonesia’s establishment of a dedicated ministry for the creative economy and extended an invitation for Indonesia to attend the 2026 OACPS Heads of State and Government Summit.Source: https://en.antaranews.com/news/389357/indonesia-opens-up-creative-economy-cooperation-with-oacps-countries (ICE GIACARTA)
