JOINT TRADE PANEL TO BE CREATED BY PH AND PERU

The Philippines and Peru will be forming a joint trade commission (JTC), officials said during the just-concluded Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Gyeongju, South Korea. Philippine Trade Secretary Cristina Roque and Peruvian Minister for Foreign Trade and Tourism Teresa Stella Mera Gómez confirmed the JTC, which aims to expand bilateral trade, diversify trade, and explore new areas of partnership between their respective countries. It is also seen to open new trade opportunities between Southeast Asia and Latin America. In 2024, bilateral trade between the Philippines and Peru totaled $280.31 million, a 191-percent increase from the previous year — indicating strong momentum and promising potential for further growth. In the same year, the two countries held their inaugural bilateral consultation meeting in Manila — with Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations and Asean Affairs Ma. Theresa Lazaro and Peru’s Vice Foreign Minister John Peter Camino Cannock discussing regional and global developments, exchanges in the maritime sphere, cooperation in disaster risk reduction and management, the environment, and tourism.   https://www.manilatimes.net/2025/11/03/business/top-business/joint-trade-panel-to-be-created-by-ph-and-peru/2213846 (ICE SINGAPORE)
