INDONESIA'S FASHION EXPORTS GROW 4.56% TO US$6.5 BILLION

Indonesia’s fashion product exports rose by 4.56% to US$6.5 billion from January to September 2025, signaling strong global demand—particularly for modest and Muslim fashion. Trade Minister Budi Santoso highlighted this growth as evidence of Indonesia’s competitiveness and its potential to become a global Muslim fashion hub. He emphasized that meeting export standards could reduce reliance on imported goods and strengthen domestic consumption. The upcoming Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week (JMFW) 2026 is expected to further boost momentum, with MoUs and trade contracts worth US$12.28 million to be signed with international buyers. Foreign interest in Indonesian fashion is growing, with buyers from countries such as Malaysia, France, Italy, and the UAE attending JMFW. To support this expansion, the Ministry of Trade is enhancing its assistance to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through product curation, design development, and export training. Santoso stressed the importance of inclusive export participation, ensuring that businesses of all sizes—from large corporations to small community enterprises—can benefit from Indonesia’s rising global fashion profile.Source: https://en.antaranews.com/news/390409/indonesias-fashion-exports-grow-456-to-us65-billion-ministry?utm_source=antaranews&utm_medium=mobile&utm_campaign=latest_category (ICE GIACARTA)
