INDONESIA'S CERAMIC PRODUCTION PROJECTED TO INCREASE 15% IN 2025

The Indonesian Ceramic Industry Association (Asaki) projects a 15% year-on-year increase in national ceramic production by the end of 2025, reaching 474.5 million square meters compared to 412 million in 2024. This growth is driven by seasonal demand peaks and supportive government programs such as government-borne VAT (PPN DTP), KUR for contractors and building materials entrepreneurs, and the 350,000-unit housing financing liquidity facility (FLPP) program. From January to October 2025, production utilization rose to 72.5%, with ceramic output estimated at 392.7 million square meters—up 16% from the same period last year. Export performance also contributed, with a 17% increase led by shipments to the US (170%), Malaysia (50%), and the Philippines (32%). Despite this progress, the industry faces significant challenges, including limited gas supply, raw material restrictions, and a surge in ceramic imports from India, Vietnam, and Malaysia. Asaki Chairman Eddy Suyanto emphasized the need for stable energy and raw material access, noting that the sector was hit by a 50% production halt during the August 2025 gas crisis. Concerns persist over the government's specific industrial gas allocation (AGIT) policy and revoked clay mining permits in West Java. The association aims to reach a utilization rate of 73% by year-end and targets 78–80% by 2026, contingent on improved supply conditions and fair trade enforcement.Source: https://ekonomi.bisnis.com/read/20251110/257/1927564/produksi-keramik-2025-diproyeksi-naik-15-di-tengah-banjir-impor-dan-krisis-gas (ICE GIACARTA)
